Hey everyone!

We know it's been a couple of weeks since we last posted, but we've been hard at work behind the scenes, shaping up the platform, squashing bugs and adding in quality of life updates. Anyway, without further ado, here's everything we have been working on over the past few weeks – (excitement warning, it's a lot!):

Dark Footer Menu: We've made the footer menu dark across all pages for better visual consistency and easier navigation.

Skeleton Loader on Browse Creator Pages: To improve page loading experience, we've added a skeleton loader on the Browse Creator pages. This will provide a smoother, more engaging user experience while the page content loads.

Clickable Profile Pictures: On mobile devices, the profile picture in the navigation is now clickable, directing you to your profile page with just one tap.

Sound Notifications: We've introduced sound notifications for stickers, subscriptions, and tips. This new feature will help ensure you don't miss any important interactions.

New Chat Features: You can now add stickers, subscribe, and tip directly in chats. These features are designed to enhance your interaction and engagement within the community.

Segment Analysis: We're rolling out advanced segment analysis to help creators understand their audience better and tailor their content effectively.

Media Protection: To protect the integrity of user-uploaded media, right-clicking on these images and videos has been disabled.

Sticky Navigation Bar: The navigation bar will now remain visible as you scroll, making it easier to navigate the site without having to scroll back to the top.

Homepage Loading Experience: We're addressing a slight issue where two APIs were failing during the initial page load, resulting in a 2-3 second delay and a white screen appearing momentarily. We are working diligently to resolve these failures and improve the load time.

Media Protection:

Right-Click Restriction: To protect our creators' content, we are implementing a right-click restriction on user-uploaded media and posts. This will help prevent unauthorized use and download of proprietary content.

SEO and Social Media Integration:

Open Graph Meta Tags Support: We're enhancing our platform's integration with social media by supporting Open Graph meta tags, which will improve the appearance and contextual relevance of shared links.

Enhanced Analytics: Our team is implementing new analytics capabilities to provide better insights into content performance and user engagement across the platform.

Stream Interaction Features:

Handling Tips and Subscription Events in Stream Chat: We're improving how tips and subscription notifications are handled and displayed in the stream chat, making it easier for creators to interact with their supporters in real-time.

Backend Infrastructure Overhaul:

Porting AWS Lambda to Django: In an effort to consolidate our backend operations and streamline maintenance, we are porting our AWS Cognito, Chime, and IVS lambdas into our Django repository.

Implementing AllAuth: To enhance our backend flexibility and avoid vendor lock-in with AWS Cognito, we're implementing AllAuth. This will support more authentication options and improve overall system resilience.

Latest Platform Enhancements: Livestream, Design and More

Gifting Animations Feature for Livestream: We are prioritizing the development of this highly requested feature to enhance interactivity and fun during livestreams.

API Optimization: Focusing on improving the response times of our most crucial APIs, particularly those affecting the Stream feature, to ensure faster and more reliable performance.

Implement Analytics: We are laying the groundwork for comprehensive analytics to better understand user engagement and platform performance.

Computing Efficiency: Scheduled for tweaks and improvements to enhance our serverless computing capabilities and efficiency.

Protect Content: We are also dedicating efforts towards content protection mechanisms, ensuring the safety and security of our users' data.

Design Initiatives:

UI/UX improvements: Our design team is working on improvements to the loading times of the site, enhancing user experience by providing immediate feedback as content loads.

Gifting Subscriptions Feature for Livestream: Finalizing the Product Requirements Document (PRD) and UI/UX designs for this feature to allow users to support their favorite creators directly during livestreams.

Profile Page Enhancements:

We're focusing on a comprehensive update to the Profile page, including navigational improvements and settings adjustments to ensure a seamless user experience.

Ongoing Tasks:

Streaming Updates: We are revamping the player and chat designs, and updating the layout for the stream page to provide a more immersive and intuitive viewing experience.

COINS System: The purchasing credits flow is being refined to streamline transactions and enhance user convenience. [more info this week]

Reusable Drawer Component: Development of a headless UI component for repeated use across the platform, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Animation & Coins Functionality: Implementation efforts for these features are underway on our API service, enriching the interactive elements available to our users.

Proof of Concept (POC): We're exploring systems to improve real-time data transfer and user interactions.

Gift Animations Feature: Work on this engaging feature continues, aiming to provide users with more ways to express themselves and interact within the platform. [more info in the coming days / week]

• Creator Card Bottom Buttons: Updated the appearance of the bottom buttons to eliminate any confusion about their functionality, improving clarity and usability.
• Streamlined 'Explore Creator' Page on Mobile: Removed unnecessary buttons when clicking on a post's comment button, making your browsing experience more efficient and enjoyable.
• Profile Text Enlargement: In response to your feedback, we've increased the text size within the Profile section for better readability.
• User Profile Settings - Username Editing: Refined the username logic in User Profile Settings, including an intuitive update to the hardcoded preview link for username changes.
• Email Icon Display Issue: Addressed and resolved the visibility issue of the email icon on Safari for Mac and iPhone users, ensuring a consistent display across all devices.
• Post Page Like Button Size: Adjusted the size of the Like button for visual consistency with other icons, enhancing the overall aesthetic of our platform.
• Profile Page Enhancements: Improved the Bio section and ensured full visibility of the Menu Items section on the My Profile page, enriching your profile management experience.

• Live Streaming Comment Time Accuracy: To boost engagement during live streams, we've streamlined the comment display and removed the timestamp to allow focus to remain on the action.
• Mobile Browsing Optimizations on Explore Creator Page: We've streamlined the mobile user experience by removing unnecessary buttons when accessing a post's comments, making navigation smoother and more intuitive.
• Profile Text Size Enhancement: Recognizing the importance of readability, we've increased the text size within the Profile section, making it easier to read and navigate.

We cannot express how excited we are to unveil what we have been creating over the past few years and have you all test it out.

Hello Contnt Community! Rocco here, excited to give you a sneak peek into the latest stage of our journey!

Over the last 6 months, it’s been a whirlwind of progress at Contnt. We’ve welcomed more talented developers and designers to our crew - each adding their unique expertise to our mix - and even became fully incorporated as a company in Dubai!

Platform-wise we’ve been meticulous in getting everything ready, building-out features, improving design and functionality, and fixing bugs to ensure a seamless experience for you all. From tackling minor tech issues to exploring cutting-edge ideas like AI integration and a potential DAO moderation structure (that would allow users to vote on key decisions), we’ve been leaving no stone unturned.

Our commitment to quality led us to a significant website framework upgrade, which has fully enhanced the platform - especially the streaming and chat features. We’re also keeping our eyes peeled for the most optimal chain to deploy on, when the time finally comes. Excitingly, we’ve made substantial strides on the streaming feature – which is basically complete and was even tested in the most awesome way! (More on that in our latest Events post, coming soon!) Our internal roadmap is strong, the hub is ready, and we’ve got some promising discussions around new marketing partnerships, as well as funding for R&D underway.

As we squash the last few bugs and refine the design and flow, we’re sprinting ever-closer to the public beta release stage! The anticipation is building, and I cannot wait for you to see what we’ve been crafting behind the scenes!
